Preserving Tradition, Shaping the Future

The eponym and founder of the Finzelberg company is Hermann Finzelberg, who was born in Luckenwalde, Brandenburg, in 1842. After completing a pharmacy apprenticeship and subsequent pharmacy degree, in 1875 he set up a small business in Andernach (Germany) for the production and sale of herbal pharmaceuticals. He did not know that the little company would one day become one of the world’s leading companies for the production of plant extracts for the pharmaceutical industry: Finzelberg.

Welcome to the nature network®

In 1989, Finzelberg becomes part of what is today the nature network®. Plantextrakt takes a 50 percent stake in Finzelberg, with which Martin Bauer has fostered close contacts as a botanicals supplier for many years. In 1999, Finzelberg becomes a 100 percent subsidiary of our group of companies and, in September 2009, part of Martin Bauer Group as an independent business unit.

Guiding the way forward

Also going forward into the future, a responsible philosophy will guide our company’s path. Treating the herbal treasures of our planet with care and continually developing premium-quality products for our customers is a commitment that never ceases to inspire us.
