Because Not All Drying Methods are the Same

Just like in extraction, the various botanicals place specific requirements on the drying as well. To satisfy these requirements, in 2003 we put into operation our new drying centre, which includes a spray tower of almost 20 metres in height for drying soft extracts. The drying centre combines a multitude of new and special-purpose technologies with which extracts can be dried and processed and tailor-made to the very highest level of pharmaceutical quality. All of the technologies are brought together under one roof, making it possible to link up all of the processes without interruption – from drying and grinding to compacting, from mixing and filling to shipping.

For drying our extracts we use four different technologies:

• The spray dryer is the classic form of powder technology and well suited for drying large extract quantities,
• The vacuum belt dryer provides particularly gentle drying at 20mbar negative pressure,
• The spray belt dryer is especially innovative and offers a range of possibilities regarding powder galenics,
• The paddle dryer makes it possible to transform highly lipophilic and solvent-based extracts into free-flowing powder.

All of the processes are fully documented for your peace of mind.

Cost-effective finishing

We grind the dried extracts we produce into special grain sizes and grain size distributions. No container leaves our company without a thorough safety check. We are also happy to assist you when it comes to the subsequent processing of your product: stable particles or complete tablet mixtures can be created from our powders during dry granulation.
