Plantextrakt Milestones

In 1980 Plantextrakt is founded and to this very day stands for premium-quality herbal, fruit and tea extracts, decaffeinated teas and tea flavours.

In 1986 an important milestone follows: Plantextrakt takes over “Pharmazeutische Fabrik Birkenweg” (Birkenweg pharmaceutical factory) in Kleinostheim. This has been producing pharmaceutical extracts since the 1930s of the last century. Thus begins the phytopharma-ceutical extract business, which is later to become part of the Business Unit Finzelberg for a while. In 2004, Kleinostheim begins specialising in manufacturing extracts for the tea, food and beverage industry and comes back to Plantextrakt.

Another major step in the company’s history is made in 1986. Plantextrakt develops an inno-vative technology for decaffeinating black tea. From this point on, decaffeinated black and green teas are also part of the portfolio.

The company continues to focus on constant development in the years that follow: Plantex-trakt constantly develops new product ideas which address current needs and requirements of customers and end consumers. In September 2009, Plantextrakt becomes part of Martin Bauer Group as an independent Business Unit and belongs to the nature network®, the inter-national group of companies.
