The company's worldwide employees are not the only ones to benefit from the social fund. Their partners or children also benefit from the fund if they encounter difficulties through no fault of their own and can no longer help themselves financially. Adolf Wedel emphasises: 'For us, responsibility does not end with the individual employee.' A committee specially convened for the purpose will decide how the proceeds of the social fund will be distributed. Any employee in need can approach the committee to request assistance – whether the situation is a severe accident, a long illness or even damage due to flooding or fire. Martin Wedel, also Managing Partner, adds: 'Colleagues and the company have already spontaneously provided financial assistance in such financial emergencies in the past. With the social fund, we have now created an instrument that will permit us to respond even more quickly and more directly.'
The Martin Bauer Group has a long tradition of taking responsibility for others. The corporate group, a family-run enterprise now in its third generation, pursues a holistic approach: whether in its dealings with colleagues, employees or business partners – the Martin Bauer Group maintains a personal corporate culture in a spirit of partnership. Just as important for the corporate group are fair management and a sustainable attitude to the environment and nature. In its commodities-procurement, for instance, the Martin Bauer Group relies on controlled, integrated cultivation techniques and is committed to adherence to strict environmental-protection guidelines.
In the Martin Bauer Group, assuming responsibility is a matter of course. One example: the newly created social fund
